6. Finca Bellavista Treehouse, Costa Rica

In the village, there are ponds, a stream, a forest and an area where members of the ecovillage planted over 12,000 seedlings as part of a reforestation program.

9. EcoVillage in Ithaca, New York

Located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, the community is composed of three districts of co-habitation, a farm with organic food crops, community gardens and more than 40 acres of protected green area.
