Sell, Buy, Blindfolding - Programmed Obsolescence

In our time we are subject to much information, many products, much of what is deemed "essential". Such items "essential" you buy today and tomorrow no longer has any value and has been replaced by a "better" version which is often an old version with a different name. This obsolescence programmed leaves us subject to another question, the waste. Daily we discard a very high amount of various types of products which could be reused in some way. I do not remember when was the last time I discarded something that still have some value because I try to use the maximum I can so I'll just get another item that when I really need.
Waste is a very serious matter and should be further explored and discussed on a daily basis, however as everything depends on the consciousness of each will not be solved only with lectures and campaigns, but when each reflect and have in mind that we must begin to change always for ourselves and not forget that the head is not just to wear a cap. I would like to get away from any cliché, but in this case I can’t and I will close with what Gandhi said "Be the change you want to see in the world".

I live on campus and here everything looks very neat and planned. The buildings are beautiful and everywhere there are new works and new buildings being constructed. As we leave the campus the reality becomes another.
When we coming to downtown is quite different, there are several old and decayed building that still have a certain charm, but I believe this is a heritage that should be better cared for and preserved, after all is often history that we're made. I think that is even more interesting how the landscape changes when I take the TRAX to Daybreak, when I come in more remote areas and poorer districts I can notice how there’s a certain neglect of a part of the population, the farther away from downtown Salt Lake City we go the landscape tends to get more and more strange and with lacking in good looks. There are certain areas that should be considered, not just the places that serve as postcard to the city, for where there are people there are lives whom need to be treated with dignity and with the possibility of living well.

The Comparison

Sao Paulo - Brazil http://www.colunadonene.com.br

It is interesting to compare the ancient cities with the current. Cities have an important role in society, they are engines for the economy and are areas of services for which there is around.
We can note analyzing aerial views of ancient cities and contemporary cities that once the cities were to people, but now cities are for motor vehicles, with little room for those who need to walk to get around from one place to another in the city. This evolution is due to thoughtless changes in society, where there is an economic expansion for profit to large entrepreneurs at any cost, forgetting the quality of life, and according to Richard Register the quality of life is related to how we build our cities, so if the city is well planned there are no need to motorized transport and there are a minimum impact on nature.
